MISCONCEPTION - KARNA WAS NOT DEFEATED AGAINST BHIMA ON DAY 17
*DHRITRASHTRA ACCEPTS THAT NOW KARNA IS FIGHTING FIRMLY WITH BHIMA STILL CANNOT DEFEAT HIM -
Narrative:
"Dhritarashtra said, 'I think, Destiny is supreme. Fie on exertion which is useless, inasmuch as the son of Adhiratha, though fighting #resolutely, could #not #vanquish the son of Pandu. Karna boasts of his competency to vanquish in battle all the Parthas with Govinda amongst them.

That desire of mine may be fulfilled today in consequence of my encounter with Bhima. If I slay Bhima or make him carless, Partha may come against me. That will be well for me.
Karna himself says that either he will slay Bhima or make him careless so that Arjun comes against him.So being mild excuse won't work now

Then Karna pierced him with five and twenty arrows, like a hunter striking a proud and infuriate elephant in the forest with a number of blazing brands. The ruler of the Madras then, beholding the Suta's son deprived of his senses, bore that ornament of battle away on his car, from that fight.
BUT THE KARNA FANS HAVE CLEVERLY REMOVED THE LAST LINE-
Then after #Karna's #defeat, Bhimasena began to rout the vast Dhartarashtra host like Indra routing the danavas.
Its clearly written Karna got defeated,apart from being swooned.

*EVEN DURYODHAN SENT HIS BROTHERS TO PROTECT KARNA WHO WAS IN FEAR OF BHIMASENA-

Thus commanded by the king, those princes, excited with wrath and desirous of slaying Bhimasena, rushed towards him like insects towards a blazing fire.
Later Karna was able to make Bhima Chariotless and destroyed his bow due to the celestial bow and celestial chariot advantage which Karna had.Bhima never fled,even though he was chariotless,he took a mace and started attacking the kauravs.
KARNA HAD HIS VIJAYA BOW AND DIVINE CHARIOT OF LORD PARSHURAM DURING THIS DUEL,BHEEMA WITH ORDINARY BOW AND CHARIOT,STILL KARNA GOT DEFEATED.
